Mary Haskell Obituary

HASKELL
MARY C. "MIMI" HASKELL, age 83, of Chadds Ford, died at home Friday, January 18, 2008.
Mimi grew up in Wilmington, attending Tatnall, Friends, and A.I. DuPont. She finished high school at Fox Hollow and did her university work at Bryn Mawr. She taught at Episcopal Academy in Philadelphia before marrying Hal and becoming the brains behind his political adventures. She served on the boards of Tatnall and the Pilot School and contributed both time and money to many chari-table organizations, including Planned Parenthood, Adopt a Family, and the Child Abuse Hotline. And, of course, she was a daughter, niece, sister, cousin, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She's survived by a brother, a sister, a husband, 3 daughters, 5 sons, 19 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
She loved to make people laugh, and she laughed right up until the end. Last Saturday, she told her daughter Bettina she was thinking about what time she needed to get up on Sunday. "What are you going to do tomorrow?," asked Bettina. Mimi smiled: "Get into as much trouble as I can."
A Memorial Service will be held 1 P.M. on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Christ Church, Christiana Hundred, Buck Road, Greenville. The burial will be private. Arr. by
