HANEMAN
MAXINE GIBSON KIMBLE HANEMAN, 99, of Ocean City, passed away quietly Saturday morning, March 31, 2007, at Shore Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Ventura, California, in 1907, she moved with her family to Bridgeton, New Jersey in 1917. After attending Glassboro Normal School, now Rowan University, she taught elementary school in Moorestown. In 1932 Maxine married Herman K. Kimble and moved to Vineland. Mr. Kimble was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Kimble Glass Company, now a division of Gerresheimer Glass AG. Maxine had two children, Dale Kimble (deceased) and Evan Ewan Kimble II; and in 1940, the family moved to Ocean City. After Herman Kimble died in 1962, Maxine married the Honorable Vincent S. Haneman (deceased), Associate Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court, in 1967, and moved to Brigantine. Maxine helped found the Children's Seashore House Auxiliary in 1947; and she was instrumental in the creation of the Kimble Pavillion at Shore Memorial Cancer Center in Somers Point, a cancer outpatient treatment facility associated with Shore Memorial Hospital. Maxine is survived by her son, Evan Kimble, a niece and nephew Sally and Carl Stepath, four grandchildren, Michael and Keith Ausbrook and Elena and Liz Kimble, and five great grandchildren, Rebekah, Max, Charles, Mary Kate, and Alexander. In addition, she is survived by a stepson, Vincent S. Haneman, Jr., 5 step grand-children, Charles Haneman, Frederick Haneman, Christine Ratty, Carol Nylund, and Lynn Proetti, and 12 step great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate her long life and to honor her memory will be held at St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Ocean City on Wednesday, April 4th at 3 P.M. A reception will follow at the church. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Children's Seashore House Auxiliary in Atlantic City, the Kimble Pavillion at Shore Memorial in Somers Point, or St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Ocean City.
