When I was a masonry student a Folcroft Votech I was a troubled student who was leading to a bad future, He helped me through the tough times and I would not be the man today if it wasn´t for him.

Dear Uncle Mike,
You have been an excellent role model to me and also a big influence in my life. I can still remember when you wanted me to go to the polar bear swim with you, but instead of wearing clothes you thought we should all skinny dip. I loved you being at the beach house and having fun. I also loved going to the amusement park with your family and when we went to Primos Pizza We always had a good time. I will miss you a lot, and one day I will be up there with you. You are the best at being an uncle and I would have loved to play my flute and picollo to you one last time. there is one last thing that I would like to say and that is if there is no one else to take up the muscle flexing thing then I would love to take it up.
Love, Nicholas
Dear Uncle Mike,
We all have too many memories with you to count, but some are distinct in my mind. How could I have completed my science fair project on cement without your help and guidance? Or polyanna wounldn't be the same without you complaining about my dad always seeming to have you for polyanna Or how would our Friday night dinners be the same without you? How about fighting over the Nino's bread knots? You usually won. You have been an awesome uncle and will be greatly missed by all (especially me).
Love, Natalie
Dear Uncle Mike,
You were a great uncle and I will always miss you. I have had some of the greatest experiences in my life with you. I hope you can read them from where you are (heaven). It was really funny how you always feared that my dad had you for Pollyanna. (along with everyone else) You used to always love Cooper. (he's probably licking your face right now)You were a hard-working uncle who never quit a job until it was done. No wonder you ran Cavallo's. You probably were in pain for the last couple months but that didn't stop you from trying to live and loving your family. Our whole family misses you a WHOLE lot. From the stories I heard, Mike C. must have been your bestest, bestest freind. It was really nice how you help support those kids also suffering from different cancers. Even though you were only 51, you have done more things than I have ever done in my life. I miss you a lot and I hope to see you when I pass away. You were the best uncle anyone could have. I hope you have fun dancing with Granny!
Love,

Dear Joyce - your loss is shared by so many people, people you may not hear from but nevertheless were inspired by Mike and loved him. We will always have a part of Mike in our life because he donated a pint of blood to Bert, body to body, in 1994 to help save Bert from a radical surgery that almost cost him his life. We are eternally grateful. We have known Mike since he entered Aston Vocational-Technical School. He was a winner in VICA, a youth organization that is worldwide. I got to know him well during those years. We also worked with him as he began a teaching career. He was phenominal as a teacher and as a job coach. His family was larger than most as he was such an inspiration to so many young people. Bessides the above, Michael Bergin was just a wonderful human being. We want you and his children to know that we are holding you up to God and pray for his peace to come to you as you grieve for this tremendous loss. Love never dies, it lives in our heart. God bless all of you.

Dear Joyce, Michelle, Jeffrey, and Joey:
We are so sorry. I just walked in from work and Adrianna told me that Uncle Ed had called. I wish there was something we could say or do to alleviate your pain. I wish we were there with all of you this very moment to comfort you. I will never forget how kind and gracious you and Mike have always been, especially when my mom and dad died.
Don't think of how he died - remember how he lived.
We are praying for all of you.
Love,
Elena and Adrianna

Dear Mike,
It is so very difficult to say goodbye. Over the last 2 years while you fought this dreaded disease, you demonstrated unbelieveable courage & strength. If anyone could beat it,I knew you would. Thruout your whole life you have been a fighter. You accepted every task God put in your path, never a wimper or a complaint. Your work ethic is legendary, it will be a continued inspiration to your daughter & two sons.I knew the day you walked into my classroom over 35 years ago, you were special.Oh, your shoulder length "hippie" hair didn't bother me, after all it was the 70's. Your demonstrated competence & skills were very evident. All those side jobs, we did together, even later when I worked on your jobs. Remember the one million paving bricks we layed at The Univ. of Penna.? Wow what a summer that was, on our knees, we did get a great tan on the back of our necks. I was always proud of you but never more than when you too, became a teacher.Your acomplisments in the shop were second to none. You carried on our tradition. Just think of all the masons we created together. How about the 10 years of night school we taught. Today those boys are all journeyman, you forever left your mark in our industry. Your Genius in the business world is remarkable. Today the dye you cast with Cavallo, will carry the handprint of you & Jimmy, forever.
I have oservered you nurture and raise your wonderful family. The love and caring you have left them , will help support them during this difficult & emotional time.
Mike, your life was too short , taken from you in the prime of your life. How blessed I was to have known you and watch you develop. Mike I could talk to you foever, but my continued words to you, will be my prayers. Today as we celebrate your life, I want say the words, I never mentioned, but I think you knew. I always loved you like a son. I shall never forget you or our relationship. Today I cry for you & your family.Tomorrow I will smile as you enter a better place. May God rest your soul and have eternal peace. God Bless you Mike.

Dear Joyce,
Mike was the BEST. He was the perfect gentlemen, friend, father, and husband. I'll never forget whenever our UDHS gang got together, mike always got all us girls together and put his arms around us and said, "Here I am with all my ladies" and we all loved it.
Our reunion committee will not be the same without Mike.
I will miss him and his smile so much. My heart goes out to you,Jeffrey,Michele, and Joey. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so very sorry to hear of Mike's death. He was one of those individuals who will live on in our hearts because he made such an impact on so many people. Mike was a fun, caring and sensitive individaul who cared about the adults and children with whom he came in contact. He gave of his time, energy and skills unselfishly. I recall how much fun the staff had putting together the video for Mike's retirement, and people will remember the smile on his face as he watched the screen. Mike made many friends at Delaware County Technical Schools and was instrumental in the business partnerships that still exist and benefit the schools' students today.
I am so sorry that I live so far away My thoughts and sympathy are with all of you. Mike leaves behind a void that will be felt by all with whom he came incontact.

When I started working at Delaware County Technical School eight years ago, Mike was assigned to be my "mentor". Little did he know that this 'one year assignment' would never end because he remains my mentor to this day. Mike made working fun. He was always smiling. Anyone at DCTS will tell you that his favorite quote used to be "no good deed goes unpunished"...and although he frequently said that jokingly, it never stopped him from continuing his good deeds over and over again. Talking to people at DCTS this week, it seems as though everyone has a story or instance when Mike Bergin helped them out in a time of need. Its no wonder he was such a busy man! Whenever life got stressful, Mike would say that 'the only thing that matters is your family'. He lived by that. Joyce, Mike talked about you with such love and respect. He adored you...as well as Michelle, Jeff, and Joey. In fact, he beamed with pride telling stories about his kids. One of my favorite memories that comes to mind occured at Jeff's high school graduation party...watching Joey play a musical instrument for the crowd while you and Mike danced like two young kids in love. So many happy memories seem bittersweet because they remind us how much we'll miss him...but in the end, it will be these memories that keep Mike alive forever in our hearts. Dan and I will never forget all of the things that Mike did for us. He was a dear, beloved friend who will be missed. We are so sorry for your loss and hope you know that you and the kids are in our thoughts and prayers.

Joyce I was with you the day you met Mike. The look he had in his eyes that day said it was love at first sight. It's hard to believe time is moving so quickly and that we are all dealing with some sort of pain.
When I think of Mike I think of a guy who had a gentle, caring way about him. He just had so much love inside him. It's just not fair that we lose good people.
I do want you to know that even though over the years we have lost touch that I was always aware of what was going on in your life through my Mom.
You have been through a very trying time in your life with the loss of your Mother and now husband. Life certainly test our strength.
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers to help you get through all of this and to help make sense of why things like this happen.
I will be there Sunday Night.
Until then.........
