I had the pleasure of working for Steve in 1974 as a rookie....and he didn't make me feel like one. He was an excellent supervisor. He recently contacted me in reference to one of his men who was seriously wounded and they got to talk about old times. I'm glad they connected. God Bless Him and His Family. A Good Man He Is.

To the LaRosa Family,
I'm sorry for the loss to your family. Steve was the first Sergeant that I worked for in 1970 in the 3rd District. He treated me and the other rookies there like family and was a great role model for us even before we knew what a role model was. He was never too busy to help us out with the best advice we would probably ever receive. I couldn't attend the viewing last night because of work, but please know that my thoughts were with your family. Steve was the best of the best. May God be good to him. I'm sorry for your loss. Steve was a good cop and an outstanding supervisor who most of all cared about his men.
I'm one of Steve's former officers and I' m proud to have served under him.

Mrs. LaRosa and family:
I do not have the words. Steve was my first sergeant back in the early 70's. He was a true gentleman and a great supervisor. For all the other 9th district 1 squad members we do remember his green pens. God bless and protect you and your family.
