Thomas. It is coming up on one year since you moved on to your new, and may I say more ephemeral law practice. I will lift a Tullemore dew to you on that day.Needless to say , we all miss your smiling Irish face.Till we raise a pint together again. Joseph Michael O'Kane

I posted this on my Facebook page this afternoon:
Please take a minute to read this. Thomas Mellon (or Tommy, as we knew him) was my swim team coach at Folcroft Swim Club MANY years ago. I haven't seen him since I was a teenager, but my memory of him is so vivid, I can still hear his voice. Tommy brought a bunch of kids together that didn't even know what a swim team really was, and showed us how to become one. Sure, he had us in the pool every morning, and sometimes after dinner, swimming so many laps we thought we wouldn't be able to walk home, but we didn't care...we were having fun. He helped us realize our specialty (mine became backstroke), but most importantly, he helped us become friends with each other. We cheered and encouraged each other, we knew each others parents and we knew respect. I don't know his family, but really, we were his first kids! We loved him and never forgot the lessons he taught us. The Mellon family should be so proud of the man he became. I hope his children follow his path. You never know the influence you can have on a child's life. Thank you, Tommy from all your kids from Folcroft

I owe Tom my second career after customs and his friendship I will always cherish, He has shown me how important it is to make family first on my agenda.
