Dear Dr. Mapp, it has been 10 years since you have gone. Time flies, and for me still you were the most diligent person in enjoying your life. I am sure of that you are the same as wherever you are. I am trying to be kind of whomever I meet, which I learned from you. Best wishes~!

I wondered why my emptiness and then wonderful memories together of our interpersonal/Family ties overseas (Trinidad & Tobago) helped me recognize the Bond we shared.

Will always remember Mappe and smile. Also think of her with deepest respect. We met on the mat doing Judo at Ishikawas dojo over 50 yrs ago. I hope she would smile knowing I am still involved in Judo ~ now as a referee. She left her mark in the lives of many ~ I count myself as one . Blessed to had known her and worked out with her. Thank you Sensei.

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Mapp. Dr. Mapp was very good friends to my mother Dr. Mary L. Graves who also suffered from breast cancer and succumbed to the disease in 1986 at the age of 50. Dr. Mapp was instrumental as a member of the Medical Society of Pennsylvania in getting a lecture series on breast cancer named after my mother. I am grateful to have known her in my life. My deepest sympathies to her son Daryl and all of her family members.

Dear Dr. Mapp's family,
I also heard the death of Dr. Mapp last weekend, two months late, for which I am so sorry! She was one of the most amazing person I have ever met, which I am sure the same to all whom she met! Also, I cannot forget her kindness and warmth that she showed me when I was in Temple Law School. Since I could not do much thing where I am, I prayed, wishing that her soul could go a happier place, which she deserve rightfully, with Dorothy! I also hope to give my sincere condolence to all of her family, including Daniel and Darryl! Thank you very much! SungJa Cho from Korea.

I apologize that this is two months late, but I just found out about my mom's friend Yogi. She was a cherished friend and classmate of my mother Barbara Murray Gordon and her passing leaves a deep void in my mom's life.
I don't know if Yogi's family knows this, but she came to the rescue at my wedding in 1976. One of my groomsmen collapsed during the recitation of our vows and Yogi jumped right up from her pew, diagnosed the problem immediately (diabetic issue) as the great doctor she was and administered the appropriate aid. He was soon on his feet and the ceremony continued.
Thanks Yogi and thanks for a life well-lived.

I met Yolanda in her Ikebana (Japanese Flower Arranging) Class. Her strong spirit was inspiring and her joy was limitless. Accomplished, fascinating and humble. Her life of Judo was particularly fascinating to me. While trying to understand the spirit of Ikebana, I am grateful to have gotten such a bonus in meeting Yolanda. I can see her arranging, sitting back and saying..."hows this?" Domo Arigatoo Gozai Mashita. (Thank you for all you have done.) ....Kathy Crane, 6th Dan, Aikido Instructor.

I met "Mappy" when we studied Judo together at Ishikawa"s Judo Club. She was a fun, great person and I can still hear her laugh. We all shared a passion for Judo, so now she competes on the "Big Mat" with all other Judokas that have gone before us. "Ippon Mappy" You were a beautiful person and I am honored to have known you.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

8 years ago we moved next door to Dr Mapp and what a great fortune it was! Dr Mapp always had time for our children...playing board games, sitting on our porch asking them about school, etc. I will miss our chats at the fence.
To the Mapp Family, your Mom was most definitely a very special lady! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the Mapp and Jones family. Yolanda and I met on Mechanic Street in Red Bank many years ago. I always looked up to her, and when I had breast cancer she called with very encouraging words. She told me she had had breast cancer years ago and she was doing fine, so I shouldn't worry. That statement gave me the strength to move through the breast cancer and I have never forgotten that. It has been over 14 years ago. I love you Yolanda and I will miss you.

Aunt Yolanda was such a luminary in our family and to so many others that she touched in her life. Her zest for life and determination to live it to the fullest was a beacon for me, and others to be sure. To my dear cousins, hold tight to your memories of your amazing mother for comfort and strength during this time of sorrow. May the Lord bless and keep her always. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
