Judith Podlesney Obituary

Judy was born on Long Island in NY, where she lived in Floral Park with her parents, brother and grandmother until after her schooling. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing at Skidmore College and her Master's degree at Columbia University.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Suellen Rosetti, Son-in-Law, Richard Davis, her Sister -in-Law, Melissa Maravell and multiple cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Antoni Podlesney, mother, Cecilia Podlesney brother Richard Podlesney, and Grandson Donald Walker

Judy was a dancer, something she did for the majority of her life. She even danced competitively for a time. She went into the Peace Corps when she was in her 50's (in the mid 90's). She served in Malawi (Africa) for three years where she taught Nursing.

Judy was very involved in her community- with Trinity Episcopal Church, her spiritual group, a French group, a Life Stories group and several others. She also served for a time as an administrative member with Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Judy was a bright light. She was always positive and upbeat. She was very loved by people who knew her. She was adventurous and outgoing. She will be sorely missed. This is a great loss to all of us, but what a gift it was to have known her.
