Frances Jean Eldred

Frances Jean Eldred, 90, of Whittemore passed away at her home May 9, 2017.
Frances was born March 16, 1927 in Detroit to the late Cyrus and Alice (nee Older) Clancy. She married Walter Eldred on June 28, 1947 and he preceded her in death Jan. 10, 2010.
After her high school graduation, she went to work for Chrysler Corporation and advanced over the years to the title of executive secretary for Chrysler Corporation. After 37 years with Chrysler, Frances decided to step away from the work force and enjoy her retirement years.
She was a very faithful and devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas and willingly gave 30 years of volunteer service with her many friends in the Catholic Council of Women (C.C.W.). Frances also volunteered for 29 years at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. Frances truly loved being part of her community and helping others in her Christian ministry. She also had a love and passion for animals, especially horses. Frances had a warm and caring heart, and she will certainly be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Frances is survived by her four nephews, Bob (Sandy) Rowe, Donald (Jean) Mold, Thomas (Theresa) Mold and Doug (Karen) Mold; many great nieces and nephews, and her friends at Holy Family Catholic Church. In addition to her husband, Walter, and her parents, Frances was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Mold and Hazel Rowe.
Frances' family will host a visitation Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. A Rosary will be prayed that evening at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Her funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas. Friends and family will gather at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at 11 a.m. Father Charles Donajkowski will officiate with interment following in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery in Tawas City.
