John Anton Obituary
He was born March 11, 1934 in Detroit, the son of the late John and Martha (nee Theel) Anton II. He was a 1952 graduate of Sandusky High School.
John married Marjorie E. Haskin on June 14, 1952 in Sandusky.
He was a lifelong farmer, past member of the McGregor Methodist Church, former 4-H leader and former Michigan Milk Association delegate.
John was a member of the Grace Community Presbyterian Church in Oscoda, where he served as an elder.
He loved family, farming, visiting with friends and boating with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie; daughters Marcia (Dennis) Franzel of Snover, Penny (Phil) Cagle of Oscoda, Jill (Mike) Turbok of Deckerville and Rebecca (Jeff Sedgwick) Anton of Oscoda; daughter-in-law Suzette Walker-Anton of Sandusky; sister Janet (William) Montgomery of Florida; and 17 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael; son John (Bucky) Anton IV; daughter-in-law Margarita Anton; and a sister, Joan Wendorf.
Cremation has taken place at the May Memorial Crematory in Port Huron. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Oscoda.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

Marge: I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers go out to you and the entire family.
My apologies for not being in touch after meeting such a wonderful family and learning so much about our family heritage from John and the rest of you.
We did not forget your kindness. We rarely made it to Oscoda. My husband fought terminal cancer for four years. He grew his wings April 16, 2015.
I pray for strength and healing as you begin this journey. Thanking God you have a wonderful family who all love you and support you.
May John RIP.
