Beverly Yoder Obituary

Beverly Ann Yoder

October 30, 1942 - April 3, 2025

Dataw Island, South Carolina - Beverly Ann Yoder, 82 of Dataw Island, SC, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at her residence.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the St. Helena's Anglican Church, 505 Church Street, Beaufort, SC 29902.

Beverly was born on October 30, 1942, in Allentown, PA, the daughter of the late Gerald and Marion (Davis) Transue. She later married her first love, David W. Yoder, in April 1964, beginning a beautiful journey of over six decades together. Beverly was a dedicated mother and Registered Nurse and began her career of over 50 years of service in Allentown, PA. The family moved to Lancaster PA in the 1970s where Beverly worked at Lancaster General Hospital and while working and raising their daughter, Beth, she received her Bachelor of Science degree from St Joseph's College. During this time, she became the Infection Control nurse at Lancaster General, lovingly known by her family as the "bug" specialist. She fit in time to spend with her husband and friends as a member of Meadia Heights Golf Club, and while she was not an avid golfer, she enjoyed Friday night "hit and giggle" with their dear friends for many years.

In the early 2000s the couple moved to Dataw Island, SC where she continued to serve as the Infection Control nurse, training and bringing others into the specialized field.

Whether Beverly was taking a beautiful sunset golf cart ride with her husband and their beloved dog Sadie, enjoying time with the members of the Dataw Island Garden Club, or spending time at her daughters' home on the marsh where she could cherish the scenery of the SC Lowcountry and be surrounded by her grand-dogs/cats, Beverly lived her life to the fullest surrounded by the small but dedicated family that she loved so much. She had a life well-lived and immensely loved.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband, David Yoder; her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Joseph DeAngelis; her brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Mitzie Transue; nephews Craig and Jay Transue; and her adored grand-dog and grand-cat, Cooper and Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested charitable donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.

Bev and Dave were great neighbors when we lived across the street on Rowland Drive. Our prayers go out to Dave and Beth. While we are left to mourn Bev, she is in God's hands now--a wonderful place we can't possibly understand. One day we will all be reunited. God Bless Bev
