Carlo Benedetti Obituary

Carlo Benedetti Carlo Benedetti, age 83, of Morristown, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, from complications of a sudden onset of medical circumstances. He was born in Lunano, Italy, on September 12, 1934 and raised on the beautiful Adriatic coast in Rimini. Carlo's work assignments redirected him to the small community of Morristown Tennessee, that so reminded him of his homeland of Italy. Once there, his roots were forever planted in the mountains of east Tennessee. His passion for building and creating was enhanced by his innate ability to create "anything". The degrees he earned in mechanical and electrical engineering at Fermo College, in Fermo, Italy rightfully gave him the ability, knowledge, and passion to do just that, "create anything". His craftsmanship was a work of art to be admired by many. His bear-like handshake was evident of those labors. Away from the tasks of building, welding, sculpting and the restoration of antique vehicles, you could find Carlo on the slopes of the Austrian and Swiss Alps or engaging in a delectable meal on the Mediterranean coast during his global travels that were always on his bucket list. Another passion and locale he could be found mingling, was on the golf links "creating" more stories and adventures that his golfing friends would later share. Regardless, throughout his life, everything was done with strong passion, every meal, every project, every round of golf, for Carlo, was a "hole in one". He is predeceased by his parents, Dante and Maria Benedetti; sister, Gianni Landwehr and nephew, Aldo Landwehr. Carlo is loved and will be missed by his surviving wife, Faye, or "Fego" as he affectionately would call her; daughter, Caroline Stuart Geitner-Benedetti; sons, Paal and Michelle Benedetti, Terry J. Geitner and Debi Inge; brothers and sisters in-law, Cillo and Igle Benedetti, Sauro and Fierella Benedetti; surrogate brother, Mino and brother in-law, Peter Landwehr. In addition, his loving family members, Jim and Jane Hoyle, Pat Jackson, Valeria Hoyle, and a host of nieces and nephews that will all hold memories of Carlo dear to their hearts. At the family's discretion, no formal services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a location and date to be determined later. An additional service will follow in his home country of Italy, where his remains will rest in a Columbarium in Lunano, Italy. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Carlo Benedetti to Young-Williams Animal Center, 3201 Division Street, Knoxville, TN 37919. Ci vediamo alla prossimo Carlo!

Love to Faye, Caroline and family. Thanks Papa for the memories, I'll always cherish the trip to the beach in the fancy sports car with a picnic basket full of Prosciutto, crusty bread, fruit, sparkling water, and lots of laughs and giggles.
