Daniel Trask

1953 - 2026

Daniel Webster Trask, of Beaufort, S.C. and Wrightsville Beach, N.C., passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026 at his home in Beaufort, surrounded by his family.



Web was born on January 31, 1953 in Wilmington, North Carolina, the son of Raiford Graham Trask and Mabel Dunn Hall Trask. He attended and graduated from Hoggard High School, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and Wake Forest University School of Law. He practiced law in Wilmington, and later transitioned into his family's real estate business.



He was an avid outdoorsman. Starting from his early days in Wrightsboro, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family hunting around Wilmington, Beaufort, and more recently central Kansas. He also loved to golf and fish. You could regularly spot him in the waters off Wrightsville Beach or in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. He also enjoyed traveling, and was blessed to have traveled to many places around the world with his wife and their friends.



Surviving him is his immediate family: his wife, Julia Chambers Trask; his daughter Dargan Trask Tunstall, her husband John, and their children Brewer, Mabel and Jack; his daughter Carroll Trask Eckel, her husband Brian, and their children Julia, Madeline, Web and Lucy; and his daughter Mabel Trask Kitchin, her husband Hal, and their children Henry and Webster. He is also survived by his brother Raiford Graham Trask, Jr. and his wife Pam; his sister Ethel Trask ("Sue") Coupland; his sister-in-law Carroll Chambers Easterling and her husband John; his brother-in-law Bill Chambers and his wife Connie, and his sister-in-law Frances Youngblood Trask. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.



A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, North Carolina. A reception will be held immediately following the service.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Web's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the charity on the donor's choice.
