I loved my uncle Doug, who always treated me as if I were a person instead of a child. I've kept all of you in my thoughts and prayers, not only these last weeks, but also as we cared for my own parents and their aging. One of the best.

Dad:

When you were young, you answered the call of our nation to risk your life defending all of us in combat in the skies over Europe.

Jesus said: "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:12-13

When you were old, you answered the call of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to accompany Him to Heaven, there to live with Him in eternal peace.

Jesus said: "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:2-3

I am so very proud to be the son of a man whose whole life was lived in devotion and obedience to God.
