James Snow Obituary

Bluffton, South Carolina - James 'Jim' Edward Snow, Jr., 80 passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at his home. Jim was born October 7, 1941 in Augusta GA to the late James Edward Snow and Sarah Schofield Snow.
Jim graduated from Richmond Academy in Augusta, served in the US Air Force, received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Augusta College, and his Master of Arts from the University of South Alabama. Jim taught history, economics, and government in Mobile AL, Bluffton SC, and retired from Hilton Head High School after 28 years of dedicated service to education. He was an active member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of the Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America in Mobile AL and Hilton Head SC. Jim was a member of the Bluffton United Methodist Church where he was active in the choir and men's club.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sarah Cubbedge Snow, daughter Robin Snow Boylston (Cordes) of Barnwell SC, son James 'Trey' Edward Snow, III of Bluffton SC, and three beautiful grandchildren Cora Ashley Boylston, Nolan James Snow, and Sydney Grace Snow. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother John Donaldson Snow.
The family would especially like to thank his caregivers, Edna Gadson and Mary Patterson.
Graveside Services will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah GA, officiated by Reverend Scarlett Hester. No ties!
Remembrances may be made to the Bluffton United Methodist Men's Club (BUMM's), PO Box 368, Bluffton SC 29910.

Mr. Snow was my favorite teacher i had while attending Hilton Head High School. He truly cared about his students education. He also always found a way to make you laugh! I hope there are teachers like him at the school now, because they (like Mr. Snow) make such a difference! You will be missed my friend. My condolences go out to his family, especially to my old classmate......his daughter Robyn. (Sorry if i misspelled her name)
