William Ragland Obituary
May 31, 1938 - June 22, 2022
Bluffton, South Carolina - The family of William (Bill) Robert Ragland sadly announce the passing of their Dad and Grandpa. Bill passed away June 22, 2022 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Elaine Ragland who passed away September 16, 2021. Bill and Elaine are survived by their daughters Sherri Lynn Ragland Veal (John), Jill Marie Doherty (Dana), and Beth Colleen Ragland, as well as grandsons Jack William Veal, Connor Ragland Veal, and Sean Andrew Evan Veal.
Bill was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas while Elaine was born in Lenexa, Kansas. Bill graduated from the University of Arkansas then moved to Kansas City, Kansas where he worked for AT&T for nearly 40 years. Bill and Elaine met at work and were married in Overland Park, Kansas. Throughout their lifetime together, they lived in Kansas, Nebraska, New Jersey, Georgia, and South Carolina. During their retirement years, Bill and Elaine enjoyed being active in the Sun City community participating in theater, chorus, mah jongg, tennis, golf, and other activities; Elaine was also part of the Sun City News team. Family and friends will miss Bill and Elaine, Dad and Mom, Grandpa and Grandma.

I am shocked to see the news if your Dad's passing. Even more shocked to read of your Mom's passing. Your Mon and I worked together for years at The Urology Group. I loved and respected your Mom so much. She LOVED the theatre and I never missed any of her shows in a sun city. She was an amazing singer and actress. She would always talk so fondly about her kids and grandkids. I am sorry for your loss of two wonderful people!
