Frederick Anderson Obituary

Frederick Clayton Anderson, 74
1950 - 2025
Lynn - Frederick Clayton "Fred" Anderson passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He was born on July 26, 1950, in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Fred graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1968 and held a variety of jobs throughout his life, gaining unique skills at each. He was known for his love of people and his gift for storytelling, which endeared him to many.
A devoted husband and dear friend to his wife Mary, she was his top priority. Fred also cherished time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating, and was a member of the Palmer Cove Yacht Club in Salem, where he moored his boat. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his affection for dogs, especially his little dog Misty.
Fred's greatest commitment was to his faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Baptized in 1975, he served faithfully as a minister and elder in the Lynn MA Congregation for over 25 years. In 2019, he relocated to Rochester, NH, where he became part of the Dover Congregation. Throughout his life, Fred shared his beliefs with others and conducted Bible studies. He recently volunteered to conduct studies in the Strafford County prison-where his honesty, directness and kindness were appreciated by his students.
His spiritual dedication and warmth touched countless lives. Though he had no children of his own, Fred formed deep bonds with many he studied with and considered them "sons".
Fred will be deeply missed by his wife Mary; his siblings Judy and Steve; his nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Misty. A Memorial talk will be held Saturday, May 03, 2025 - 2:30pm at the Peabody MA Kingdom Hall: 70 Endicott St. Peabody, MA.

Fred was like a father to me, and I will miss him greatly. I knew him almost 30 years. And he was the bestest friend a person could ask for.

We are deeply sad for the loss of our good friend and brother. If you were a friend of Fred you were his friend for life. He gave freely of himself, to his dear Mary, and to so many whom he saw in need. He volunteered on countless number of volunteer projects where he gladly gave his all, his energy, time, and resources. We sorely miss our big brother Fred, for just a little while longer until Jehovah makes him stand up once again.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I will always treasure the fond memories of camping and exploring with Mary & Fred when I was a kid. Mary, remember the raccoons? Lol. So many fun memories with Fred... The big water fight in our house is a memorable one. Wish I were there to give you a big hug Mary. I'm so glad that you had a beautiful life together. Sending you lots of love from Canada.
