Jeffrey O'Connell Obituary

Jeffrey W. O'Connell, 46
1977 - 2023
Lynn - Jeffrey W. O'Connell of Lynn, MA passed away on December 8, 2023 after a brief illness. Jeffrey loved life and living it to its fullest. His life was cut too short. He was the son of the late Anthony G. O'connell of Lynn, MA and the late Marilyn (Woodfall) O'Connell of Lynn, MA.
Jeff graduated from St. John's Prep. in 1995 and from UVM with a B.S. in Political Science in 1999. He later attended Northeastern to become a paralegal. As a kid he worked as a paper boy delivering the Lynn Item in Happy Valley where he grew up. The job he most enjoyed was working as a camp counselor at Boy Scout Camp Onway in Raymond, NH. Later he went on to work as a real estate paralegal focusing on title insurance. He worked at Stuart Title in Boston for many years. He also worked with his family at O'Connell Business Services doing accounting and tax work.
He enjoyed hiking, snowboarding, skydiving, scuba diving and reading. Jeff was an avid boy scout and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout by setting up a system of signage in Lynn Woods that remains in many places today. He really liked hiking and fishing with his brother, Chris. He was smart and funny and always had something witty to say on all occasions.
Jeffrey always had a big heart. He loved all kinds of animals from our many dogs to his ferrets. He especially loved hiking the Gannon Golf Course at dusk and talking to the deer. We nick-named him the deer whisperer.
In the last few years he met the love of his life, Maria Conde. His departure has left a void in her heart that cannot be filled.
Jeff is survived by his sister Colleen (O'Connell) Mello and her husband Jason of Derry, NH and his brother Christopher A. O'Connell of Salem, MA. He is also survived by two nieces Kaleigh Lyn Mello and Leighton Raye Mello, both of Derry, NH.
Life will never be the same without him. He will always be remembered and lives on in our hearts forever.
Service Information: Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14, from 4-8pm at the Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St.(Rt. 1A), Lynn. His funeral service will be held on Friday, December 15, in the funeral home at 11AM. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Avenue, Salem, MA 01970.

Jeff, we just rekindled our friendship last year, and we were talking all the time. We were friends for most of our lives and I will miss you.

I´m so sorry to hear this. I grew up with Jeff swimming at the Peabody/Lynnfield Y every summer as kids and we went to Pickering together. He was smart, funny and always laughing. I´m sorry for his family and everyone who loved him.
