Stitcher, loved gardeningLYNN-Mrs. Maria (Barrios) Saravia, 65, of Lynn, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Life Care Center following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Max Saravia, fulfilling her wish to marry him after building an 18-year relationship. They wed this past year on Thanksgiving Day.Born and educated in Guatemala, she was the daughter of the late Rodrigo and Josefina (Socorro De Leon) Barrios. She has been a resident of Lynn for the past 23 years and was a member of the Iglesia Evangelica Luz Y Vida Church in Lynn. She retired in 1996 from the Wayne Company as a stitcher. Mrs. Saravia loved gardening, sewing and spending time with her family. She was a dedicated shopper of silk and fabrics, often designing and making her own clothing. She loved people and was certainly loved by all who knew her.In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Annabella Perez of Guatemala and Lesbia Perez of Lynn. She leaves behind six sisters, Floridalma, Herlinda, Hortencia, Clemencia, Lucila and Angelica; three brothers, Bernardo and his wife Irma, Fidelino and Alfredo; six grandchildren, Monica, Estuardo, Marily, Fernanda, Alejandro, Wendy and many nieces and nephews.Service Information: Funeral services from the Goodrich Funeral Home in Lynn, 128 Washington Street on Thursday, March 12th at 11 a.m. with burial following in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visitation on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. All are welcome to share in the celebration of Maria's life.
