1929 - 2021

Lynn - Ralph J. "Babe" Saulnier, of Lynn passed away peacefully on Friday November 12, 2021 at the Sunrise Assisted Living following. He was the devoted husband of Marie (Cormier) Saulnier, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn to the late Evelyn (LeBlanc) and J. Ralph Saulnier, Ralph attended St. Jean Baptiste grammar and high school and graduated in 1948. Ralph was a longtime Lynn resident, except for a short time from 1985 – 2005 when he lived in Lynnfield. Ralph served as a Staff Sgt. in the Air Force from 1948-1952 and then worked as a self-employed hardwood flooring contractor for Saulnier Hardwood Floors. He was also the proprietor of Babe's Dairy Twist, which he owned for a couple of years.

He was a lifetime member of the Franco-American Post 12, the Knights of Columbus Council #70, and a longtime parishioner of the former St. Jeans Church where he ran the Bingo nights, a member of the Holy Name Society, and sang in the choir for over 50 years including for Pope John Paul II in 1987. He was also a member of the Concert Singers of Greater Lynn and the Assumption church choir.

Ralph was passionate about playing sports including football, basketball, volleyball, softball, bowling, and boxing. He adored watching the Patriots and College football. He will be forever remembered as a great husband, father, Pepere, great-grandfather, and for his great sense of humor and his generosity.

Ralph is survived by his wife Marie, daughter Louise Saulnier- Andrews of Chelmsford, daughter Julie Tucker (Robert) of Peabody, son Marc (Margaret) of Wolfeboro, NH, son Paul (Denise) of Swampscott, daughter Lisa Klasman (Kevin) of Nashua, his grandchildren; Nicole Medeiros (Shane), Jacob Andrews (Emilee) , Justin Saulnier (Claire), Lauren Tucker, Neil Andrews , Noelle Saulnier, great grandchildren, Luke Anthony Medeiros, Brooke Marie Medeiros, and an expected great-grandaughter, and his sister Alma (Saulnier) Barrett of Lynn, and many nieces and nephews.

Ralph was predeceased by his siblings; Laurie Saulnier (Doris), Norman Saulnier (Alina), Claire Richards (Tilman), and Rose Marie Olsson (David).

Service Information: Visiting hours for Ralph will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt129) Lynn from 3-7P.M. Final prayers will be held at Solimine on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 10 A.M. followed by funeral mass at St. Pius V Church in Lynn at 11 A.M. Burial to follow at St. Jean Cemetery, Lynn. Memorial contributions may be made is his name to St. Vincent DePaul. Online guestbook at www.Solimine.com.
