Ivar B. Lund

Ivar Lund passed away peacefully at Redlands Community Hospital on Nov. 24, 2015. Born in Havre, MT, he attended Cottonwood Country School, Havre High School and finished his education at Northern Montana College. Ivar was positioned in the Army's 665th Ammunition Company, of which he was company first sergeant at the age of 21. Before deploying for WWII, Lund married Helen Olson. He proudly served his country during campaigns such as D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. Helen and Ivar Lund moved to Circle, MT, where he purchased the Olson Farm Equipment business from his father-in-law and grew it over the next 53 years before retiring to Redlands. Ivar was very active in the Circle community as president of the local school board and as a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Masonic Temple and the Elks Club, among others. Ivar will be remembered for his devotion to family, extraordinary optimism, strong work ethic, courage, and generosity. Ivar is survived by sister Ann Miller, daughter Marilyn Bunnell (Bill), son Jon Lund (Marion), granddaughters Whitney Showler and Kirsten Stevenson (Robert), and great grandsons Jake Robert Stevenson and Matthew Ivar Stevenson. He is preceded in death by his parents Lena and Olaf Lund, and brothers O.B. Lund and Arnold Lund. Services and internment will be private.
