Jesse Rodriguez Obituary

Rodriguez Rodriguez, Jesse James, 50 years old of Waxhaw, NC, has gone home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2008. He was a compassionate and great man who was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend. His presence and warm signature smile will be missed to the highest degree. He was born in Covina, CA and resided in the San Gabriel Valley for much of his life. He later moved to the Inland Empire. In the last years of his life he lived in North Carolina where he and his wife bought their dream home. He graduated from Nogales High School (1975), Pasadena City College (1978), and The University of La Verne (2000). He loved the Lord and introduced many people to Him. He was passionate about sports and was an avid golfer who loved to enjoy a nice cigar at the 19th hole. He ran in many L.A. Marathons. He is survived by his wife Cindy Leigh, his sons Tristan, Garrett and his daughter Morgan; his mother Rose Valenzuela, his father Miguel Rodriguez, his brothers and sisters; Mike Rodriguez, Elvira Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez, Eddie Rodriguez, Rose (Ralph) Galvan, Elaine (Raymond) Fierros, Laurette (Tony) Alcantar, Tim Rodriguez, and Gilbert (Corina) Rodriguez; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and in-laws. Viewing will be held at Forest Lawn, 21300 Via Verde, Covina, CA on Friday, March 7 from 5-9 pm; Prayer/Church Service will be held at Community Baptist Church, 9090 19th Street, Rancho Cucamonga, CA on Saturday, March 8 at 10:00 am followed by a procession to his Grave Site Service at Forest Lawn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jesses name to American Heart Association. honor.americanheart.org

How I wish you would be back here on Earth with us.... You made Cindy become a better person and taught her what love meant and what love was. You gave her joy and happiness and a sense of calm. She became a wonderful woman because of you.. I remember your wedding like yesterday. I remember the day you both told me she was going to be a mother...I remember the day Morgan was born.. I loved seeing the 3 of you together and most of all Cindy happy. The love she felt from you and for you is a love that will never be replaced. I sit back and realize how precious life and love is. Not a day goes by that I wish you were here for Cindy and Morgan. I wonder if Cindy will ever recover. I try to put myself in Cindys shoes but I cant. Cindy has been remarkably strong but there are days I worry so for her. I just wish she could see you one more time and talk to you once again. Cindy will never lose her love for you, her Gilbert. I pray Morgan will always know what a wonderful father, husband, and friend you were to all those around you. I hope your memories live on with Morgan and the boys. I came to realize that you are gone the other day when I saw Garrett working away at Target. My eyes filled with tears as the image of you appeared and he and I made contact. You must be so proud of your boys and Morgan. Please just watch over them all and especially my Cindy. I do worry so about her. There are days when I talk to her and I hang up realizing how sad she is and I wish I could do more. Please know you are deeply missed by all. Love always, Shannon(Shong)

Today I received the sad news of Jesse's untimely passing. There are so many words, I honestly dont know where to start. I've known Jesse for almost 20 years and although in recent times, we had lost contact, I have always and will always hold him dear to my heart. Jesse was a former boss, mentor, confidant and most of all, friend. Jesse performed a biblical reading at my wedding in 1995. I will now view that video with a renewed sense of pride, knowing that I was able to have such an amazing person as a friend. My most sincere condolences to his family. May god hold you close during this difficult time.

I did not know Jesse well but I did meet him a couple of times long, long ago. He was very compassionate and a very caring father to his 2 boys. He will be missed. My heart goes out to his family. May God bless them always and comfort them knowing that Jesse is in God's arms now.

I only met Jesse once and that is when Cindy and I got "back together". I could tell from that moment what a wonderful human being he was. He truly loved his kids, adored his wife and was just an amazing person. Cindy, I pray for you and Morgan everday, I know Jesse is watching over you both. Just know he is your angel! I had the pleasure of working with Jesse for many years at Staples. He was always smiling and always had a nice word for anyone. I remember our shared love of baseball and our kids. Sharing our joys at our kids triumph on the diamond was a daily ritual during baseball/softball season. He was a great man and our only comfort is KNOWING he is home with our Lord and Savior - hearing "Well done my good and faithful servant". Well done Jesse. We will miss you and your smile.
