May 15, 1950 – Oct. 11, 2024
Antonio G. Salgado, known to everyone as Tony, was born on May 15, 1950, in Calexico, California sadly passed away on October 11, 2024, in San Diego, surrounded by his family. Tony grew up in Calexico, California and attended Calexico High School (Class of 1968). After graduating, he enlisted in The U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War on the USS Theodore E. Chandler (DD-717) as a Machinist's Mate. He married Virginia Slusher (Calexico) on November 17, 1973. They later moved to El Centro in 1987, where they raised their children.
Tony is survived by his loving wife, Virginia; his sons, Vincent (Leticia), Michael (Marissa), and Christopher (Erica); seven grandchildren, Dezi, Vincent Jr., Aubrey, Ariana, Leslie, Anelie, and Karelia; brother, David (Olivia); and sister, Anna. He was preceded in death by his father, Vicente Salgado, and his mother, Antonia Salgado (Gutierrez).
Tony's life will be remembered and celebrated on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Frye Chapel Mortuary & Crematory in Imperial. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro. Flowers for Tony may be sent to Frye Chapel in Imperial no later than October 31, 2024.

No cocimos al Tony pero creemos que tiene la misma semilla que mi amigo y hermano en Cristo David Salgado. Oramos por la familia que se ha quedado en la lucha de este mundo y rogamos al Dios y padre de nuestro señor Jesucristo, que les de fuerza y valor para seguir adelante como Tony hubiera querido.
