Eleanor Mostrong Obituary

MOSTRONG

Dec. 26, 1923- July 1, 2005


There will be a private celebration Saturday, July 9, for the life of Eleanor Colleen Mostrong; 81, of Alpine, Calif. who passed away Friday, July 1, at her home with her family present.
Mrs. Mostrong was born Eleanor Colleen Prowell December 26, 1923 in Tulare, Calif. She moved to the Imperial Valley with her family in October 1936.
She attended Central Union High School, she also worked in El Centro as a sales associate for Ballard & Brocket, and for the Bank of America. She also did some modeling and had several movie parts with Bing Crosby Enterprises. She was also active in the Imperial Valley Bowling Association from 1948 to 1985.
Mrs. Mostrong, known to all who loved her as "Cole," married her husband of 58 years, Casey Mostrong on October 3, 1947. Some of her happiest times were spending time with family and friends in San Felipe.
Mrs. Mostrong was preceded in death by sister Bonnie Cofey in 1970 and son, Larry Mostrong in 1993.
Her survivors include her husband, Casey Mostrong of Alpine; sisters, Faye Douthitt of El Centro and Marian Young of Idylwild, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Rich Sylvester of Carlsbad, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Julie Mostrong of El Centro. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Shannon and Todd Mostrong, Anthony and Natalie Sylvester, Blake, Brett and Lindsey Mostrong.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be sent to Vitas (Hopsice) Healthcare Corp. of California, 9655 Granite Ridge, Suite 300, San Diego, CA 92123.
