Aug. 6, 1935 - Mar. 7, 2010
Visitation will be held Friday, March 12 at 12 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro for Heriberto Vega, 74, of El Centro who passed away of natural causes Sunday, March 7 in his home. A Rosary will also be said during visitation.
Mass will follow at St. Mary's Church in El Centro at 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico immediately after Mass.
Eddie was born August 6, 1935 in Calabazas, AZ. He attended Nogales High School Class of 1952 and Central Union High School. Eddie started working at Dessert Flowers in 1955 and later became owner in 1982.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Maria Vega; mother, Rita Vega; brother, Cruz Vega; and sisters, Josefa and Alicia Vega.
Eddie is survived by his brother, Rosalino (Maria Elena) of Tumacacori, AZ; sister, Esther (Mario) Castruita of El Centro, CA; and 14 nieces and nephews.

Tio:
I finaly made it to California! as i was driving here i thought about our last trip we took together, and how much fun we had, the mountains still have some snow on top and look beautifull, the green pastures were still green and the train was going in the tunnel as we pass by, so many memories came rushing back to me at that moment and how i wished you were here. I am happy Tio to be here with my sister, we talk about you all the time and we share our memories of you with each other and sometimes we cry and sometimes we laugh, I miss you and Love you so much!!!

Hi Tio
I needed to let u know that my flowers are n bloom! and that the Amerillus Bulb u gave me bloom! this year it was the most amazing feeling to see it open everyday the flowers were a bright red and all the while my thoughts were with u, I know u saw them from up above, thank you Tio for the beautifull experience of seeing a flower that beautifull come to full bloom before my eyes, and knowing that you had also experience the same excitement of seeing it bloom! Wishing everyday u were still with us! i miss u so much! I love u Tio.

We will miss Eddie, he was a cousin of ours, we will always remember him and our Tia Rita. He always opened his home to us and showed us a wonderful time whenever we came through El Centro. He is now resting in heaven with Tia Rita and my father, Pete Flores. We love you Eddie and your memories will forever be alive in our hearts. We will miss you. Eddie will be missed. I left the Valley many year ago and each time I needed flowers sent in the Valley I always used Desert Flowers because I knew Eddie was there to help me with just the right flowers.

I am so sad to hear of Eddie's passing. He was such a great friend. I worked for Eddie off and on for 10yrs and my daughter had also worked for Eddie. He was an amazing person. I will miss you Eddie.
