JIMMIE DAVENPORT Obituary
Jimmie Davenport, 80, of Lakeside, CA passed away on January 5, 2016 at Zion Hospital Kasiser San Diego Medical Center. He was born February 21, 1935 in Texas and was married to Mozelle Hanan Davenport on March 17, 2012 in Lakeside, CA. Jim was a Marine in the Korean Conflict and in 1957 he entered San Diego State College and earned his Engineering degree. He also earned an Aero Space Engineer Degree while employed at General Dynamics. He was heavily involved in the Apollo 11 mission to the moon and back to Earth. He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Watson and father, Floyd Wastson; brother, Tommy Watson; sister, Bonnie Watson; grandson, Davis Davenport and wife of 51 years, Susanne Harris Davenport; mother-in-law, Ernestine and father-in-law, Stevens Harris. Jimmie is survived by his wife, Mozelle Y. Davenport of Lakeside, CA; son, David Davenport; grandson, Drew Davenport; sister, Mae Jean of Kansas; daughter, Julie Languille; son-in-law, Larry Languile; grandsons, Alexander Hooton and Matthew Nordeen; granddaughter, Kaylah Languille; daughter, Stephanie Bramschrieber and granddaughter, Brittney Headley; great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Headly and granddaughter, Christina Bramschrieber; step-children, Neal and Karen Hanan, Stephanie and Josh Hagans, Michelle and John Oval, Mark Hanan of Arizona and son, Jonas Sellers of Lakeside, CA; 18 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; Jim is beloved by All friends and family. He will be remembered forever. Graveside memorial will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
