Mario Puig Obituary

MARIO MAGDAY PUIG

Mar. 22, 1973 - Dec. 15, 2008

Mario Magday Puig, age 35, was taken by our Lord on December 15, 2008.
He was born on March 22, 1973 in Santa Ana, California to Robert and Susana Puig. He attended schools in El Centro, CA where he graduated from Central Union High School, then went on to UCLA and Cal State University of Los Angeles to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree. At the time of his passing he was working for Sapient as a Computer Graphic Designer designing Websites. More than anything Mario loved being with his beautiful kids and everything he did was for them. Nothing made him happier than when he was with his children. He was a very talented Graphic Designer and was very artistic as well. He had a diverse group of friends who came from all over the world. He enjoyed listening to Jazz with his father and the two enjoyed looking for albums for each other.
As a child growing up in El Centro he loved to cycle all over the valley. He also enjoyed surfing with his friends and cooking a good meal. He enjoyed foods from different cultures and especially liked to cook Italian food. He was a friend to many, loved them unconditionally and always kept in touch with them. As a son he was kind, respectful and generous to a fault. To his brother, he was more than a brother; he was also a friend who was always there when needed and gave selflessly. He could only see the good in those around him and always had a kind word. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we will always remember that sweet smile and the kind soul that he was.
Mario is survived by daughter and son, Cristiane and Oliver Puig of Mission Viejo, CA; parents, Robert and Susana Puig of El Centro, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Omar and Imogene Puig of Long Beach, CA; grandmothers, Soledad Opina of Niland, CA, and Bertha Sanchez of Wildomar, CA; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will take place Sunday, December 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Frye Chapel in Brawley with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Mass will commence at 9 a.m. on Monday, December 22 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Calipatria with Father Amador Lopez officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.

Cristiane

January 9, 2009

I was an Exchange Studant at Central High from Brazil and Mario was my 1st friend and best friend. Then I return to my country and we change several letters for many years. We didn't have internet that time. Then he stopped to write me for some years, when suddenly I received a letter with some pictures enclosed. He said he had a Little Girl and her name was " Cristiane ", like me. I was very emotionally affected and happy. After that we changed some e-mails. But from 3 years up to now, the e-mails was failing. Yesterday, I don't know why, I tryed once again to look forward him at Google, then I found this sad notice. He will be in my heart forever.

I have fond memories of Mario when we were at Central together. He was one of those thoughtful, positive people in the back of the class, always observing the dynamics of the classroom. He had a wonderfull smile and when he talked, everyone listened. Our thoughts and prayers go to Mario and his family.
