MARK CONSTABLE Obituary

Mark Constable, 61, Brawley resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2016 in Santa Barbara surrounded by family. After valiantly dancing with an aggressive form of Prostate cancer for five years, Mark died of heart failure. He put up a fight, defying the odds, allowing him to be with his girls for as long as possible. Mark was a lifelong farmer and nurseryman, embodying a deep connection to growing and to the land. He also loved the ocean: swimming, surfing, and deep sea fishing. A husband, brother, father and friend, Mark was described as, A wonderful person with the most infectious laugh. He was a one-of-a-kind blend of down to earth & practical, mischievous & fun-loving, yet modestly deep thinking & spiritual. A rare person who could inspire those around him to laugh, even at themselves. A nearby resident confessed that he taught her how to be a neighbor. He was deeply grateful for his friends, family, and community, posting on social media, Dont usually write anything on Facebook, but just wanted to tell all you people how blessed I am to have all of you in my life. The eldest son, born to Chuck and Judy Constable. Mark is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Paul. Mark is survived by his wife of 19 years, Laurie; his daughters, Alexis and Anna; his brother and sister-in-law, Kent & Karen Constable; his step-mother, Mary Joy Barnett; step-siblings: Hunt Barnett (Debbie), Eric Barnett (Heidi), and Bettina Helsing (Craig); nieces and nephews: Tyler Constable, Lisa Lofton, Page Barnett, Charlotte Barnett, Claire Barnett, Jason Barnett, Sean Barnett, Emma Helsing, and Grace Helsing. My heart is grieving for the family of Mark. He was a unique individual. Loved his entire family, especially fond of his dad and mom. May you find solace in the memories that he left for you to bring to mind in the days and weeks to come. Deepest sympathy I offer you.
