NELLY DORANTES
June 20, 1934 - May 21, 2015
Nelly Dorantes, 80, of El Centro passed away in her home surrounded by her children, grandchildren, brother, daughters- in-law, and special friend as they prayed, sobbed and lovingly waited for her to meet the Lord and Savior and be reunited with the love of her life of 53 years, husband Guillermo Dorantes on May 21, 2015.
She was a loving and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great friend. She had a servant's heart and always wanted to do for other before herself . She loved reading the Bible and was a prayer warrior. Her life was vibrant as she touched many lives over the years. She was always spreading comfort, hope, cheer, and singing and blessing every person that she came in contact with. Nelly loved looking beautiful and always had her lipstick and mirror with her.
Visitation for Nelly will take place tonight from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in El Centro with rosary at 7 p.m.
Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 28 at 9 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Edward Horning officiating. Nelly will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico following Mass.
She now joins her husband, Guillermo Dorantes; mother, Concepcion Leon; father, Cruz Arce; and brothers, Aparicio Arce and Cruz Arce Leon.
Nelly is survived by her 8 children: Irma Montoya, Jorge (Sandra) Dorantes, Leticia (Pablo) Mendoza, Luis (Maria) Dorantes, Patricia Dorantes, Raul Dorantes, Carlos (Alicia) Dorantes, and Victor (Julia) Dorantes; 26 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchil- dren; brothers, Alfredo, Arturo Arce; and sister, Aurora Contreras.
The family extends a special thanks to the following: Dr. Heywood, Dr. Seethala, and Dr. Laura of La Jolla Scripps Green Hospital; Dr. Calvin, Dr. Anzari, Dr. Hamdy, Dr. Vo, Dr. Patel, Dr. Robles, and Dr. Moukarzel, all of El Centro; Hospice of Imperial Valley, Desert Medical Pharmacy, Juanito of Central Home Medical and Health Peak.
