SYLVIA WIMER
Aug. 17, 1950 - Oct. 31, 2010
Sylvia Wimer, 60, of El Centro, CA lost her battle with congestive heart failure. She was summoned by the Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 12:12 a.m.
Sylvia's strong will made her very unique. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her children even in the most difficult circumstances. After the death of her daughter Rosemary, she went on to finish raising her 4 grandchildren. Sylvia waitressed for many years in local restaurants and just loved it. She did not see it as a job, but as a past time. She will always be remembered for her compassion towards those in need without any judgement. One of her powerful sayings was "No one is greater than you, but remember you are not greater than anyone either". She was a true fighter and never gave up. She fought until her very last breath with her family by her side. Her daughter, Rosemary will be re-interred at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro from Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico so that she may be laid to rest along with her mother and brother, Robert.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Angie Wimer; daughter, Rosemary Wimer Silva; and son, Robert Wimer Rosas. She is survived by her daughters; Sylvia (Art) Rubio of El Centro, Arlene Wimer (Hector) Brambila of Imperial; son, Mark Anthony Wymer of El Centro; sisters, Socorro Wimer of Anacortes, WA, Yolanda Wimer Moreno of El Centro, Consuelo Wimer Warner of Bellingham, WA, Christina Wimer of La Mesa; daughter- in-law, Rosalie Rosas; grandchildren, George, Peter, Rosemarie, Jonathan, Art, Eric, Melanie, Brianne, Robert Matthew, and Kayla Allysa; aunts and uncles, Gloria Wimer Platero of Watsonville, Manuel and Rosemary Wimer of El Centro, Lilly Zamudio of Escondido, Josie Valles of El Centro, Mercy Garcia of El Centro; beloved niece, Vanessa Wimer; beloved friend who was always by her side, Margarita Romo Bewick; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
