Jean "Toni" Smith

Humboldt - Memorial services for Mrs. Jean Stone Hooper "Toni" Smith, age 90, will be on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 12 noon in Harris Grove United Methodist Church near Humboldt with Paul Hare and Keith Brown officiating. A gathering with the family will begin at 11 am until the service time at the church.

Mrs. Smith died on February 3, 2019 at Bells Nursing Home. Born March 16, 1928 in Paris, Tennessee and living in Puryear, Tennessee, where she was the only child of J.C. Hooper and Ann Stone Hooper. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a degree in Home Economics. Toni worked for the Dyer County Extension Service before marrying Neil Smith in 1951. They worked and raised five kids on their farm in North Madison County where they were involved in 4H, school activities, and church youth activities . She enjoyed over 60 years of serving and fellowship at Harris Grove United Methodist Church.

Toni was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Teresa (Jim), and survived by husband Neil, sons Mark (Gina),

Robert (Susan), daughters Jennifer Kot (Mitchell), and Cynthia Greener (Rodney), 14 grandchildren and spouses, and two great grandsons.

Having lived a life characterized by loving, joyfully singing, praying and sacrificially serving her family, friends, church, and our Lord Jesus, we feel her life has been ushered into heaven with "well done, my good and faithful servant".
