Jimmie Mills Obituary

Funeral services for Jimmie E. Mills 67 will be Friday June 6 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Campbell Street Church of Christ with Ministers Ray Hawk and Ralph Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery with Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Mills died Tuesday June 3 2003 in Jackson-Madison County Hospital following a short illness. He was born in Reinze Mississippi son of Mrs. Inez Johnson Mills and the late Jimmy Everett Mills and was Valedictorian of his graduating class at Biggersville Mississippi High School. He later attended Northeast Mississippi Junior College. Mr. Mills worked for many years as Meat Market manager for Liberty and Kroger Supermarkets and at the time of his death was associated with Wal-Mart meat department. He was a faithful member of the Campbell Street Church of Christ and was one of the founders of the Golden Circle Rose Society. Surviving are his wife Caroline House Mills to whom he was married in 1957; three sons Tony Mills and wife Emily of Jackson Timothy Alan Mills and wife Tyra of Evansville Indiana and Brian David Mills of Jackson; his mother Mrs. Inez Mills of Biggersville; a brother James Wesley Mills and a sister Martha Jean Morelock both of Biggersville; and two granddaughters Cassie Nichole Mills and Brooke Michelle Mills. Pallbearers for the service will be Herman Williams Ike Roland John Shilliday Donnie Curtis John Counce and Wilbur Campbell. The family requests memorials be made to Campbell Street Church of Christ Building Fund 1490 Campbell Street Jackson TN 38305. Friends may visit with the family today from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. Friday until the time of service.
