Hello to the family from the Commonwealth of KY. I am sorry we were unable to come down for the services for Hugh Jr. Mary Byrd called us about his passing, and it happened a little too quick for us to be able to make the trip. I have a suspicion you already know this, but Hugh Jr was one of Paula's MOST favorite people in the world. Every time she spoke of him it was with a smile on her face, and I can add that the ladies and I always enjoyed seeing and talking with him and his family on our treks down to AL and FL. He was one of those people that I consider to be a true southern gentleman in every sense of the word, and I am truly glad you guys made the effort to bring him to Enterprise to meet Paula and Marie the last time we came down there. If we had only known what was going to happen the next two years or so I think we would have all held those hugs and embraces and smiles for a few extra minutes. Since that fateful meeting, Kyle, Paula, Marie and now Hugh Jr have all left us. A few weeks ago, I got to thinking about the events of the past couple of years, and between family and friends and clients I have had almost 25 people who are no longer among us other than in our hearts and minds. If the angel of death would take a holiday for a few years I would really appreciate it, because I am so tired of the feeling of sadness and emptiness that seems to accompany each and every one who leaves us. I want to thank Hugh Jr's family for welcoming my daughters and myself so warmly over the years and treasure the memories of the dinners and cookouts and interactions we were allowed to have. All of you are constantly in our prayers and thoughts even though we aren't always all that diligent in letting y'all know it. I guess one of the best things that can be said about someone is that they lived their life well and with honor. Somehow I think this sentiment was composed with people like Hugh Jr in mind.................for I think he lived his life well. I am sure Paula and Wayne and Marie were there to welcome him when the time came, and you know, that's not bad company to be in. A big hug to all of his family, but particularly to Patty, Julie and Nancianne.
