Margaret Secrest Obituary
Joan Secrest, 80, of West Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
Born June 20, 1937 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Bernard and Pauline (Schooler) Nichols. Joan married her husband Robert Secrest Jr. on August 22, 1968 in Lafayette, Indiana, he preceded her in death in 1992.
Professionally, Joan worked as a clerk in retail establishments. She graduated from Delphi High School. Joan was an avid Bingo and card player. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family. Joan loved shopping for clothing and jewelry. She was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Joan is survived by her children: Brad (wife: Michelle) Secrest and Delisa (husband: Sean) Bellon both of West Lafayette; siblings:Paul Nichols of Florida and Evelyn Pruitt of Macy, IN; and grandchildren: Dustin Hieatt of Indianapolis and Allison Bellon of West Lafayette.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by Buddy, Leroy, Harold, Elizabeth, and Betty.
A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Pastor Owen Mason will officiate. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. In lieu of usual remembrances, direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org). Please share memories and condolences online at www.hippensteelfuneralservice.com.
