Nicholas Watkins Obituary
Nicholas Simon Peter Watkins, 22, West Lafayette, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, December 26, 2011, in his residence. Born October 26, 1989, in Hollywood, Florida, he was the highly beloved son of Larry Wayne Watkins and Jeanann Watkins. His mother survives in West Lafayette.
Nicholas was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He deeply loved his family, especially his son and his nephews and nieces. He loved music and from an early age, Nick excelled at sports, enjoying basketball, baseball, skateboarding, and working out. At the time of his death, he was employed at Kirby Risk in manufacturing.
Surviving with his mother are his 7-month old son, Nolan Alan Watkins, of Lafayette; five siblings, Steven R. Watkins, Phoenix, AZ, Tobias S. Watkins, New Castle, IN, Pamala D. Faiola and her husband Jacob, Fishers, IN, Dustin G. Watkins and his wife Ashley, Lafayette, IN, and Kelly M. Watkins, West Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A Catholic funeral service will be held for immediate family only. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel, Lafayette.
In lieu of flowers, if you like, you may light a candle of hope in remembrance of Nicholas and share online condolences at www.fisherloy.com.

Nick, I think of you so often. We didn't see each other often, but our whole family just loved you. I can't believe how long you have been gone already from this earth - I like to think that you are still around. Your wonderful energy was always so positive - you once stopped my kids in their tracks when you calmly said, "Instead of complaining, try being grateful for what you have." It really made them listen and consider. You were just like that - you knew the right thing to say. And you were so much fun. They still talk about how you jumped into the pool with a cast on, knowing you would have to redo the cast but the fun would be so worth it. We miss and love you

Nick, my youngest son, I don't want anyone to imagine that I could ever forget you. You gave me the greatest human joy I've ever experienced. Knowing that you gave your life to God and loved Jesus so much in your short life here on earth gives me the utmost peace and comfort beyond imagining. I thank God and I thank you for that.
God willing, Nick, I will love you throughout all eternity, my sweet beautiful loving son. Say hello to your dad for me.

I love you Nick. I've been crying about you for like an hour now...I'm supposed to be doing my homework. I miss you, thanks for going on so many trips with me and for making me laugh. Thanks for putting up with all the mean things that I said to you and thanks most of all for forgiving me, because that's who you were. You were a great man Nick.

Nicholas... My sweet and beautiful son...
This is for your beautiful son, Nolan, who looks just like you. Someday, he will read all the words people have written in memory of you and so I am putting these words here for him because I love him and I love you in him.

Nick,
I know that you are missed terribly by your Mom, sisters and brothers. Grief can be so hard, but I know that special memories of you will help them cope with the loss of not having you anymore with them. Nick, you have been gone for a month now and it hasn't gotten any easier. With each and every thought I have I can link it to you directly, even if the original thought had nothing to do with you. I see your picture every day and smile at it, then I get sad for a second because I realize I will never see your smile again or look into your beautiful eyes. God saved you from this world because it wasn't nice to you, I thank him for taking you from all the pain you had but I still wish you were here. I love you Nicholas.

Nick- Its crazy knowing that your no longer here. I cant believe this happened. I've known you since what 13? I know we didnt talk much after we grew up a bit but everytime i saw you you never failed to stop for a least a minute or so to say whats up or ask how i was doing. Nick, I wish I had told you how proud I was of you. You became such a fine young man, and father. Everyone could tell how much you lit up when you were with Nolan. You will be deeply missed, but I'll always keep you in my heart and remember you as my best friends' silly little brother who always made me smile. I'm so glad to have so many fun memories of you.

Nicky, I am still having such a hard time accepting all of this. You were such a great uncle to Tristan and Taylor, they are truly your biggest fans. They love you so much and Dustin and I will make sure they know how much you love them. I am so greatful for the time we got to have with you. You taught me the greatest lesson in life, that no matter what awful kind of thing someone has done to you it is always best to forgive. You had such a big heart. Thank you or just being you. Thank you for being there for Dustin he loves you so much, I've never seen such a great amount of love between 2 brothers. I know that you are with god now watching over us all. Nicholas, I love you. Anytime that we were ever apart, you were always on my mind, in my heart, and in my prayers; that will never change. I missed you and I miss you now. You had such a good heart. You really cared about other people. I love how I could really talk to you, and you really let people into your heart. Nick, I miss you. I love you. Thank you for all the times we prayed and read the bible together. Thank you for being a sincere and loving person. I've always missed how things were when you were a kid...getting ice cream together, picking you up from the pool, taking you to movies and the skate park, going to your baseball games (we were all so proud of you for your athletic abilities)...As you got older, it was amazing to see how great you were with you nieces and nephews. We are at a total loss for words to properly express our feelings. We do have a lot of fond memories of you Nick. It just seems like last year when you and John went to California to visit our daughter. The pictures of you and John here at the house for Christmas are heartbreaking.
