Jane Spencer Obituary
Jane L. Spencer, 90, of Bay, passed away on July 25, 2025, at Quail Run Health & Rehab in Trumann. Jane was born in Brookland on October 3, 1934, to the late Elmer and Violet Willey. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Spencer; daughter, Becky Spencer; and brother, Bob Willey.
Jane grew up and spent most of her life in Northeast Arkansas. As a lifelong Christian, she was a devoted member of the Greensboro Road Church of Christ. Jane was dedicated to her family and did everything possible to care for them. One of her greatest passions was cooking. She was known as the Canning Queen. Having a large family meant keeping the vegetable garden and her cabinets stocked. Every year, her kitchen was full of vegetables and canning supplies, but her family never went without. Jane was also a highly talented, self-taught cake decorator. She could make and design any kind of cake, but her specialty was wedding cakes. She baked and decorated every cake for her children's weddings. Outside of the kitchen and caring for her family, Jane loved taking road trips. She and her husband never took the same trip twice, always choosing to see new sights along the way. Her favorite destination was the Grand Canyon. Jane loved her family and will be missed by those who loved her most.
Jane is survived by her sons, Jim Spencer (Molly) and Jeremy Spencer both of Bay; daughters, Sharon Nance of Jonesboro, Karen Warren (Buck) of Bay; Brenda Boyd (Dean) of Brookland, Janice Ann McDaniel (Gaylon) of Bay, and Andrea Spencer of Bay; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; her beloved pet, Buddy the Cat; and a host of family, friends, and loved ones.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on July 28, 2025, at Emerson Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place the following morning at 10:00 am on July 29, 2025, also at Emerson Funeral Home with Mark Brewer and Terry Joe Key officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Brad Boyd, Ricky Loyd, Justin Warren, Tyler McDaniel, Robbie Spencer, and Troy Brown.
Honorary Pallbearers include her son-in-laws, daughter-in-law Molly Spencer, and the members of Greensboro Road Church of Christ.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Quail Run Health & Rehab and Dierksen Hospice for going above and beyond for taking special care of Jane.
