WALNUT RIDGE - Daniel Andrew Webb, 69, of Walnut Ridge passed from this life Sunday, July 7, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born Aug. 26, 1955, in Walnut Ridge, to the late Rev. James H. Webb and Stellia McQuay Webb. He was united in marriage to Martha Ella Hancock on Nov. 8, 1971, in Alton, Mo.
Dan is being greeted in heaven by his beloved wife of 52 years, Martha. Also meeting him there are his parents, his three sisters, Leaverda Fultner, Sue Nelson and Neatress Fultner, and his two brothers, Larry Webb and David Webb.
He is survived by his three daughters, Penny Sloan (Clay) of Sherwood, Kimberly Wheelis (Miranda) of Smithville and Laura Webb (Scott Taylor) of Manila; his wife, Paula Webb of the home; brother Danny Webb of Pocahontas; and sister, Brenda Joyce Lamb of Oklahoma.
He has four loving grandchildren, Vanessa Lynn Wheelis, Ashley Nicole Wheelis, Haley Brooke Wright, and Zack Osburn. He also has many other family members and friends.
Early in his career, Dan was in manufacturing management for about 20 years. In 1992, he graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy.
Law enforcement was one of his life's greatest joys. He served the city of Hoxie and also the city of Walnut Ridge, where he retired as chief of police. Prior to becoming a police officer, he was a member of the Hoxie Volunteer Fire Department, where he loved serving the children in his community. In all of these capacities, he touched many lives.
Daniel lived a full, happy and blessed life. He was well known for his storytelling and larger-than-life laughter. He made everyone he encountered feel special and loved.
He was a member of Lake Charles Full Gospel Church, where he served in music ministry. He loved helping people and welcomed many into his home to play music and share a meal, lots of laughter and God's word. There isn't much he enjoyed more than Bible study and discussion, and playing and singing gospel music. Those who love him know that his love for God was his guiding light in his life.
