RUSSELLVILLE - Grover Ivey Canard, age 101, of Coal Hill, passed away on Jan. 6, 2025, at Stella Manor in Russellville. He was born at home on July 21, 1923, to J.H. (James Henry) and Melinda Carrie (Haynes) Canard of St. James.

In later years, Grover got a private investigator's license and worked as a security guard. Grover's hobbies and interests were gardening, travel, treasure hunting, and prospecting in different states.

He is survived by his children, Judy and husband Steve Hess of Menahga, Minn.; Philip Canard of Roundup, Mont.; Wayne Canard of Coal Hill; Doug Canard of Hartman; grandsons Trace Johnson of Magnolia, Texas; Michael and wife Katie Hess of Grand Forks, N.D.; great-granddaughters Maddy and Izzy Hess of Grand Forks, N.D.
