HOXIE - Teresa Gail Lovelady, 74, of Hoxie, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born Feb. 18, 1949, in Jonesboro, to V.L. Spotts and Betty White Spotts.
She taught for 28 years and retired from the Hoxie School District. Teresa was involved in her community, serving on the Hoxie City Council and serving on many committees as well. She was a member of the Lawrence County Cemetery Board and served as an election official.
Her devotion to her church was as involved as her other activities. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and served as the choir director for over 20 years.
She was a devoted grandmother who loved to crochet, do puzzles and play dominoes.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Doug Lovelady, brother, Billy Spotts, and sister-in-law, Margaret Adams.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Lovelady of the home and Janet (Barry) Melton of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Braden (Madison) Melton of Little Rock, Cory (Nickle) Schuchman and Abby (Christian) Melton, both of Jonesboro; nieces and nephew, Terry Spotts, Tracy Ledford-Alexander, Tammy Finley, Jackie Kohler, Johnny Hardin and Terry Marlin; sister-in-law, Alleen Hardin of Walnut Ridge; and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening, Nov. 5, at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the Hoxie United Methodist Church with Jeremy Hopper officiating.
The family will hold a private burial in Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

I enjoyed working the polls with Ms Teresa. She was always kind and very knowledgeable. I loved and trusted this wonderful soul. I´m glad I knew her. I will miss her very much.
