Carol Dodd Obituary

Carol Anne (Sullivan) Dodd, 82, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Friday, Apr. 9, 2021, with family at her side.

Born in New York City, daughter of the late James and Ruth (Roda) Sullivan, she was raised in Queens and later moved to California, where she met and married Frank, her husband of 61 years. Carol and Frank lived in Oak Ridge, Tennessee for several years, before moving to the Enfield community in 1978. She was employed in the direct selling industry for over 30 years and retired from Creative Memories, Co. as National Sales Manager. Carol was a faithful member of St. Patrick Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, a CCD Teacher and was a member of the Parish Council. Carol was a lover of all things music. She loved to sing, whether it was performing on a stage or singing in the kitchen while she was doing one of her favorite pleasures, cooking. She also enjoyed crafting and knitting. Volunteer, is the best word to describe Carol, as she was first in line when help was needed for a church or community activity and especially enjoyed her time volunteering at the Enfield Fourth of July Town Celebration for many years.

In addition to her husband Frank, she is survived by her daughter, Theresa Dodd of Enfield; two sons, Frank Dodd, Jr. of Waterbury, and James Dodd, Sr. and his wife, Michelle, of Somers; eight grandchildren, Rachael, Ashley, Frank III, Alexander, James Jr., Meghan, Isabella, and Lillian; eight great-grandchildren, Sophia, Ramona, Catherine, Michael, Mariah, Willow, Grayson, and Peyton. She also leaves a brother, Donald Sullivan and his wife, Maria, of Denver, Colorado, and several nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her daughter, Norma Post; and her siblings, James Sullivan and Norma Glenn.

Relatives and friends may join Carol's family for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Church of St. Raymond of Penafort Parish at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 15. Please meet at church and follow mask and social distancing protocol.
