Catherine Cassotta Obituary

Catherine D. "Katy" Cassotta, 88, wife of the late Nicholas A. Cassotta (2000), entered into eternal peace Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Baystate Medical Center.

The daughter of the late Antonio and Antoinette (Amendola) DeCaro, Katy was born in West Springfield, Massachusetts, and lived in Enfield since 1958. She was formerly employed by Casual Corner for several years before retiring and later opened her own ceramic studio. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church and was an avid bingo player. She was a member of the Tanguay Magill Post 80 American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by a son, Vincent Cassotta and his wife, Doreen, of Enfield; two brothers, Dominic DeCaro and his wife, Rita, of Ludlow, Massachusetts, and Joseph DeCaro and his wife, Anita, of Springfield; four grandchildren, A.J. Golec, Jennifer Shaw, and Nicholas and Ann Marie Cassotta.

Visitation hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 14, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at St. Patrick Church (please meet at church), 64 Pearl St., Enfield. Committal will follow at St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery.

Donations in Catherine's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
