Chris,
Time has flown by since you left but as each of those days that have passed I still think about you. Wondering how your doing up there and hoping that you are shining down on your family and friends that miss you the most and subtly reminding them that you are looking over them.

Mr. & Mrs. Emond and Matt,
I hope that on the anniversary of Chris' passing you guys are enlightened by fond memories.

Very Respectfully,

Chris,
Not a day goes by where you are not in my thoughts. I see your picture in my work book every time I open it. I can't believe it's already been two years...it feels like it was just yesterday. It just doesn't seem fair. Please keep your family safe and protect them...especially your mom. She needs you. We miss you here and the absence never gets easier. I hope you are in a better place now though, with no worries...smiling up above. I'll never forget you. Love you.

A friend forever.

The noise of silence
is now more deafening than the thump of a beat
resounding through the rafters
or the squeal of tires on the road
or the rumbling of his car in the driveway.
In the silence I hear his absence.
Each quiet moment reminds me of his loss.
Every noise tricks my ears
as I long for the sounds of him to return.

Dear Chris,
I wrote this 2 years ago. I still remember the sounds of your car and the music bouncing off the walls. The creak of the stairs as you came home. I still miss you and wish you could return. Be safe. You will be in my heart forever.
Love,

Susan Murphy

Happy 24th Birthday Chris. Today, Saturday, we watched a friends daughter and one of your class mates, get married, and I thougth of how we were celebrating 2 important events on this day. In times of sharing, you always come to our thoughts and hearts. My birthday gift to you, is this special memory of watching you pick up our Ashley, in your Subaru, every day for high school, and how you would patiently wait for her in our driveway. I would look out and there you would be. Always looking out for Ashley and making her feel special. Just like you, Special! I cleaned out a closet a few weeks ago, and I found a note book of Ashleys' and as I read through it, I came across a note she wrote to herself, about how much she liked you and how she had a secret crush on you in grade school and it made me smile and cry at the same time. It seems that is what time does to us when we think of you, we smile, we cry, we miss you ... and we go on, wanting more of you... Love, Mrs. Murphy

Dear Howie, Cess and Matt,

There is no amount of time that will ever take away the deep void that Chris’s passing left, and it will be a life long journey of just one day at a time, to try to make sense of and find some place of peace with his death. I hear it said the first year is the hardest, but don’t believe that because some days are harder than others, and on those days, it feels like it is never going to get easier. And we go on, don’t we…as we have to, especially for each other. On those hard days, I pray all the LOVE and HOPE we have can help you get through them.

But I do know that with all the wonderful friends and acquaintances, your extremely close family that you have, and the constant sharing of his memory amongst us, he will always live in spirit and in our hearts.

Just about every day, there is that someone, in our community or our small part of this world, that takes the time to stop by or email me and ask about all of you, and how you are doing! And they share a part of Chris with me that I know helps me. So even though, I know you all have seen how much you are loved and cared about, I want you to also keep in mind and know that there are so many daily gestures of kindness that has been extended or spoken of Chris, during this past year, even when words are hard to say, and feelings are still so near the surface, ........and that these kindnesses help me as I know they will help you to know that Chris, is never far from any of us. Even when it still seems so unreal, already 1 year has passed, you must remember, he is never far from someone's heartfelt thoughts. Chris's presence is always near, and Chris knows now, what LOVE he GREW during his life with us! It is this LOVE that will sustain all of us till our time comes.

I want to thank you, Howie, Cess and Matt, all for allowing us to know all of you, and for letting us share your love, your pain, and your Family! May the Almighty, bless all of you, and continue to show and teach us what unconditional LOVE is all about and give us the inner strength and peace of heart, that we all need to continue on and to be there for each other. It is this same LOVE that will sustain Chris for eternity, as he rests in peace.

We love you,
Kelly & Sue

Mr & Mrs. Emond and Matt,

Guys, I'm truly sorry for your loss and the pain your feeling during this hard and trying time. I send you my heartfelt condolences. The passing of Chris was a shocker to all and it brings tears to my eyes and pain to my heart to know that he's no longer with us. As I look back on the years that I have known Chris I can only think of the wonderful times we have shared. From cookouts on your back deck, participating in various sporting events, running around your neighborhood and even me babysitting Chris and Matt in our younger years I will always chreish and remember the memories. He was an amazing son, brother and friend with a charming smile and wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by all but never forgotten. God speed Chris, Rest In Peace.

Cheryl Chalou
Baghdad, Iraq

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above. Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight. Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night. That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone. As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on. I need you here badly; you're part of my plan. There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do. And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you. And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight. God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears. But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain. Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned. But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand. But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er. I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time. It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain, then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain." And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile, knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low, just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go. When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind; I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

hi guys...
i know that there's absolutely nothing that can take away your pain. and i cant even begin to imagine how you're feeling. I just wanted to let you guys know that I truly cherished all the good times that I had with Chris. When I think of him, and all of you, I think of my childhood and how much fun he made it. Meagan and I were talking yesterday about Chris and you, Matt and the two of you were really our first friends. Constant days of playing house, sardines and as we got older various sports were what made our summers wonderful. I truly feel blessed to have had Chris as a friend, and you all as neighbors. Chris was my first crush and "boyfriend" if you can call it that in middle school. I loved Chris and his goofy ways. He was a great son, brother and friend. I will miss him terribly. Know that you are in my family's thoughts and prayers always.

Love,
Katie
