Daniel Wright Obituary

Daniel "Danny" L. Wright Jr., 78, of Enfield, beloved husband of the late Olga (Shostak) Wright, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2008.

Born in Hartford on Jan. 6, 1930, Danny was the son of the late Daniel L. and Lucy (Cossman) Wright. Danny has been a resident of Enfield since 1960 and for many years owned and operated Danny's Radio and Television Repair. He also was a biotechnician for Johnson Memorial Hospital prior to his retirement. Danny was very involved and worshiped at the Somers Congregational United Church of Christ. He proudly served our country with the United States Marines. Danny was a member of the Shenipsit Strider Trail Running Club and ran in the yearly Soapstone Mountain Trail Race and the Manchester Road Race. He was a member of the United Ostomy Association Hartford Chapter and graciously volunteered his time to many cancer patients. He was also very charitable as a blood donor with the American Red Cross.

He is survived by two sons, Gary Wright of Springfield, Mass., and Daniel L. Wright III and his wife, Mary, of Ohio; his daughter-in-law, Anne Wright of Suffield; a brother Kenneth Wright and his wife, Betty, of Sharon, Vt.; brother and sister-in-law, John and Joanne Shostak of Williamsburg, Va.; three grandchildren, Karen Acquarulo, Christine Ryan, and Erica Wright; and his great grandson, Dominick Acquarulo.

Danny's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.

A private service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Home and Community Health Services Hospice Program, P.O. Box 1199, Enfield, CT 06083 or the East Longmeadow Animal Hospital, 572 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
