Dorothy Ann Annulli, 95, of Manchester, CT, passed away peacefully at MeadowBrook of Granby on December 19, 2024, surrounded by members of her loving family. Dorothy, a gentle but strong individual, shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Frederick C. Annulli, before his passing in 2001. Together, they built a life in Manchester CT centered on family, faith and love.
Born on October 18, 1929, in Chicago, IL, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Anton and Clara (Ressler) Kanak. Dorothy graduated from Manchester High School in 1947 and attended the University of Connecticut, where she was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. After marrying Fred in 1950, Dorothy dedicated herself to raising their family in Manchester. She played a vital role in their business ventures, applying her impressive accounting and bookkeeping skills toward their successes, including the Hartford Road Dairy Queen and Nulli's Restaurant.
An active member of Saint Bridget's Church in Manchester, Dorothy found joy in her faith and served her community through numerous volunteer activities. She was a compassionate and devoted caregiver to her mother, Clara Kanak, and to her in-laws, Giulio and Armanda Annulli. Dorothy will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed but forever held in the hearts of those she touched.
Dorothy's final years were spent at MeadowBrook of Granby, where she received exemplary care, attention and kindness. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to every member of the MeadowBrook staff.
Dorothy is survived by her four children, daughter Julia Perrault and her husband Ronald of Rockport, MA; son Peter Annulli and his wife Bridget of Granby, CT; daughter Cindy Annulli and her husband Morris (Moe) Age of Torrance, CA; and son Mark Annulli and his wife Angie Rockett of Willington, CT. Dorothy was blessed with her grandchildren, Erin Vacaro and her husband Kevin of Framingham, MA; Katy Annulli of Warwick, RI; Amanda Mellon and her husband Timothy of Cambridge, MA; Lauren Perrault and her husband Gabriel Peterson of Hartford, CT; Michelle Perrault and her fiancée John Paul Garlasco of Glastonbury, CT; China Blue Rockett-Rhee and her spouse Clay of Boston, MA; Daniel Birch of Providence, RI; Marissa Age of Garden Grove, CA. Dorothy was quite proud of her great-grandchildren, Theo Perrault Peterson of Hartford, CT, Joanna Birch of Providence, RI and Zackary Age Grenert of Garden Grove, CA. She is also survived by her brother, John Kanak and his wife Jan of New Haven, CT and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Frederick; her brother, Robert Kanak; her sister, June Breen; sisters-in-law, Ida Lindberg and Karen Kanak and brothers-in-law, Andrew Lindberg, Theodore Schuetz and Edward Breen.
A visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street in Manchester, CT, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Bridget's Church, 80 Main Street in Manchester, CT. Burial will be at Saint James Cemetery, Manchester, CT.
