Edna DeGray Obituary

Edna DeGray
Edna "Kay" (Heath) DeGray, 83, of Somersville, CT, got on the train to heaven on August 20, 2025, as her family waved her goodbye.
Born on July 11, 1942, in Saco, ME, she was the daughter of the late Edna (Crosson) Heath and George Heath. A passionate traveler and skilled seamstress and knitter, Kay graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield, MA, and Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield, CT. She dedicated many years of her career to Brooks Brothers in Enfield, CT. Kay was a kind and devoted mother, who always put her family first.
She is survived by her three children: Christina Glann, Nicole DeGray, and Carl DeGray; along with her siblings: Elizabeth Donnellan, Thomas Heath and his wife, Sharon, and Bonnie Senese and her husband, James. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. When she boarded the train, she was greeted by her family members who preceded her in death: her husband, Carl B. DeGray; her parents; her brothers, Jimmy Heath and John Crosson; and her beloved cat, Mr. Meow.
Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate nurses and caregivers of Suffield House who supported Kay during her time there. Your kindness, comfort, and care is deeply appreciated.
Visitation hours will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27th, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A graveside service will follow at Hazardville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Enfield Community Cat Project, P.O. Box 614, Enfield, CT 06082, or online at enfieldcommunitycatproject.com .
