Joseph Chipman Obituary

Joseph Allen Chipman, 44, beloved husband of Tara (Banik) Chipman, passed away March 22, 2017, at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Joseph was born Dec. 28, 1972, to Allen Chipman and the late Linda (Prachniak) Chipman. He was a lifelong Vernon resident. Joseph was able to make friends with anyone and everyone he met. He spent 26 years of his life working as an emergency medical technician, half of that with American Medical Response. Joseph also volunteered 20 years of his life with the Vernon Fire Department. Later in life, he pursued his other passion of motorcycles and went back to school at WyoTech in Ormond Beach, Florida, studying motorcycle repair.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Tara Chipman, of Vernon; his father, Allen Chipman, of Vernon; daughters Amber and Kylee Chipman, of Orange City, Florida; his stepson, Connor Thompson, of Vernon; his brother, Steve Chipman and his wife, Katherine, of Ellington; his niece, Casey Kaf Al Ghazal and her husband, Basam, of Houston, Texas; his nephews, Matthew Aubin, Hunter, and Jake Chipman, of Ellington; and all of his brothers within the Phantom Lords Motorcycle Club. Aside from his mother, Joseph was predeceased by his sister, Sallie Aubin.

Calling hours are being held Friday, April 7, at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, from 5 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial is being held Saturday, April 8, at St. Bernard Church in Vernon at 10 a.m., leaving from the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery following Mass.

Tara, Amber, Kylee, Connor, Family, and Friends,Very sad to hear this news. I'm very sorry for your loss. I talked with Joe many hundreds of times at triage at Hartford Hospital and socially. He was an intelligent, admired, and genuine professional. He always spoke with love about his children and wanted the very best for them. He helped thousands of people in his work, and was admired by many. My sincerest condolence.Todd Williams

Joey was a special person. I think of the days he spent at my Mom and Dads farm while growing up. My Dad loved when he brought the dogs up to run on the farm. I am so sorry for your loss Tara and everyone else that had the pleasure to know him. I still can't believe he is gone. I am here if you need me or I can help you in anyway. I lost my husband and don't think I will get over it.
