Martha Savage Baker
Martha Savage Baker, 94, of Enfield, CT, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, at Hartford Hospital. She was born on December 15, 1929 in Framingham, MA to Edgar and Thelma (Shaw) Savage. Martha graduated from Mass State College at Framingham and attended Springfield College. She taught in schools in Springfield, MA, Suffield, CT and Enfield, CT. Martha was employed by United Technologies, Materials Control Lab. She moved to and had lived in Enfield since 1953, prior to recently moving to South Windsor. Martha was married to Everett C. Baker, who predeceased her in 2016. She was predeceased by a sister and 2 brothers. Prior to adopting their 3 children, they enjoyed rock hunting together all over the US. Martha enjoyed bird watching, especially cardinals, as well as crafting at home, including quilting, crochet and making beautiful Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls as gifts. Martha also loved dogs and cats and she shared that love of animals with her daughter.
She is survived by her daughter; Penney Baker and her husband Allen Trudeau of Manchester, CT and her sons Andrew Baker and his wife Pamela of Dixon, MO and David Baker of Boise, ID.
