Michael A. Rossi III

Born on Aug. 3, 1982, in Hartford to Michael A. Rossi and Anne M. (Mortell) Rossi. Mike was a lifelong resident of Suffield. A graduate of Suffield H.S. Class of 2000, Michael, John Fleming and John O'Brien were instrumental in implementing the Wrestling Program at Suffield H. S., was a former Boy Scout and Indian Guide. He had also attended Georgia Southern University and Central Connecticut University. As a young teen he belonged to the Civil Air Patrol. And after graduating he served proudly with the US. Marine Corps from 2000 – 2004, during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Stabilization Mission in Haiti. Mike was employed for the last 14 years as a C.O. with the Connecticut Dept of Corrections at the MacDougal Walker Correctional Inst., Suffield, a member of the Dept. of Corrections SOG (Special Operations Group).

In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his beloved son Michael A. Rossi, IV; his sister Tamara L. Rossi Santos (Jason) of South Carolina; several aunts, uncles, cousins, fiancée, Katie McClellan; and friends. He was predeceased by his brother and best friend Christopher Rossi (2020); maternal grandparents Emma and Thomas Mortell; paternal grandparents Michael and Concetta Rossi; aunts, Rita Hundley, Irene Rumore, Shirley Arre; and Uncle Francis Mortell.

Relatives and friend may gather with his family during calling hours on Friday, July 1, 2022, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022, with the procession forming at 9 a.m., from the funeral home to Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Rd., Suffield, for a 10 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial followed by military honors. Burial is at the convenience of the family.
