Norman Grimason Obituary

Norman F. Grimason, 75, of Vernon, formerly of Manchester, husband of 15 years to Dolores (Tourville) Grimason, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 in his wife's arms at home.

He was born July 5, 1932 in Manchester, son of Anna (Scheibenpflug) Grimason of Manchester and the late Norman Grimason. Mr. Grimason was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force and later the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserves. He was a 1954 graduate of the Ward School of Electronics. Prior to his retirement in 1993, Mr. Grimason was employed for 41 years with C.L.& P. He attended the Zion Lutheran Church in Manchester and was a member of the B.P.O.E in East Hartford and the American Legion Post 102, Manchester. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed bowling, hunting and golf.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Ellen Grimason of Palm Beach, Fla.; his daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Jim Crum of Glastonbury; four grandchildren, Kristy and Tammy Grimason and Robert and Susanne Crum; his brothers, Edward Grimason of West Hartford and Franklin Grimason and his wife, Lorette of Willimantic; and several nephews and cousins. He also leaves two stepdaughters, Cheryl Champy of Peterborough, N.H. and Kim Champy of Phoenixville, Pa. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brother, David Grimason.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 Cooper St., Manchester. Inurnment will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.

Memorial calling hours will be Friday, March 14th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St., Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease Research, Church Street Station, P.O. Box 780, NY, NY 10008-0780 or to the Manchester Historical Society, 106 Hartford Rd., Manchester, CT 06040.

Frank,
So sorry for your loss. I can't believe, just over a month ago, we were talking about the times Tootie and I had during our teen years and the (almost) trouble we woulld get into. He was a great friend and buddy. He will be missed.

Dee,
