Patrick Stanley Obituary

Patrick Francis Stanley, 39, of Vernon, beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, cousin, and friend, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021.

Patrick was born Feb. 25, 1981, in Vernon and was a lifelong town resident. Patrick will be remembered for his quiet yet consistent and loyal nature, his intelligence, his determination and his technical ability. We will forever cherish our memories of Patrick - the youth sports teams he played on with his best friend and brother, Matthew while coached by their father, the family camping trips to Vermont, game nights and BBQ's with family and friends.

Patrick leaves behind his loving parents, Timothy and Vivian (Brousseau) Stanley; his brother and sister-in-law Matthew and Kara (Ryan) Stanley and their three children, his cherished nieces and nephew Brooklyn Paige, Emmett Patrick and Gwyneth Brynn. He also leaves his grandparents Theresa Stanley of Melrose, Florida; Maryvonne Brousseau of Vernon; and Phillip Brousseau of Palm Coast Florida; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends all of whom had a special place in his heart. Lastly, he leaves behind his cat "Whiskey" - one that only someone as kind as Patrick would have saved. He was predeceased by his grandfather Francis Stanley.

Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Vernon. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing guidelines. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family

Patrick's genuine kindness and love will be deeply missed, but it will also deeply cherished because knowing him was such a gift. I will miss you, dear cousin, and the way you always said "I love you" before saying goodbye. These words were not lost on me; I will keep them with me always.

Nick and I remember Patrick as a soft-spoken, gentle young man, fiercely devoted to his parents. We hold fond memories of Patrick playing along with our son in little league and soccer games. And all those fun badminton games in your backyard! I remember our families’ trip to Ogunquit Beach where the boys played so happily and carefree on the sand. And your family was so kind to take Charlie with you on your camping trips to Vermont where the boys bonded and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I also remember your boys staying with our family for a few days as you took Vivian with you on a business trip to Florida. Patrick was always so kind, respectful, and willing to help. May his memory be eternal.
