Richard DeForge Obituary

Richard J. DeForge, 59, of Suffield, beloved husband of 31 years to the love of his life, Sharon (Colgan) DeForge. Richard died Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Hartford, the son of Joseph F. DeForge of Winter Haven, Fla., and Dorothy (Paganelli) DeForge of Suffield, and lived in Suffield all of his life. Richard served in the Connecticut Air National Guard during the Vietnam War. He was employed by the Sugino Corp. as Northeast Regional Sales Representative for the last 15 years. Richard had many diverse and interesting hobbies, spending time fishing in his favorite place, the Connecticut River, building rifles, golf, NASCAR, 8, and pride and joy his 1968 Camaro. Richard touched many lives with his smile and laughter, love and sunshine, he will be truly missed by so many.

Besides his mother, Dorothy (the rock in his life), his father, Joseph, and his wife, Sharon, he is survived by the light of his life, his daughter, Jaime DeForge of Cincinnati, Ohio; and many relatives and friends.

The funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Rd., West Suffield. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Windsor Locks.

Family and friends may call at the Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory to the Suffield Emergency Aid Association, 450 South Street, Suffield, CT 06078.
